The Hidden Affects Of Religious Dogma Part Three

Jun 11, 2025

Here’s Why Fear is Disrupting Your Life

In religion, you did not choose your beliefs because they made sense; You chose them because you were scared not to.

Now that you have bravely stepped away from religion and the church, you may still find yourself bound by fear in what you believe, your actions, or lack thereof. But remember, your decision was not motivated by fear but by a desire for love, growth, and connection. You are not a victim of punishment through hell, divine wrath, and rejection. You are a brave individual who has chosen a path of freedom and self-discovery.

That threat stemming from fear manifests in your body through constant tension because you are not free.

The fear that is motivating you comes from three branches:

*Fear of the Unknown

*Fear of Abandonment

*Fear of Loss

Let's briefly take a look at each branch separately.

1. Fear of the Unknown

Why does the fear of the unknown appear?

Because you are going against traditions, you are going against the grain of what has always been done; you are going against what has been deemed as usual.

Your choice to transcend beyond religion is not a deviation but a natural progression. It is a realization that you were always meant to evolve, which is your natural state. Religion, with its static beliefs, is an unnatural state. You are on the right path; your evolution is inherently yours to experience.

Now that you are in the process of evolving, you intuitively know that you will need to step into places and experiences physically and spiritually that you have never experienced. Allowing fear of the unknown to keep you bound keeps you from experiencing the evolution that is inherently yours.

 2. Fear of Abandonment

You are leaving a world that you have known behind and vice versa.

What does this look like?

You have stepped away from the world of religion and its rules and ideas. The fear of being abandoned by your community that has its foundation in religion is attempting to hold you in the same existence.

How does this show up in your life after you have left religion?

Fear of abandonment shows up in what you allow yourself to become attached to: Unhealthy relationships manifesting as friendships, romantic partnerships, business, and jobs.

3. Fear of Loss

Fear of loss attempts to make you focus on all the time you've spent in religion. Fear of loss attempts put your focus into the time you've used, building a life through the limited, controlled, and subdued lens that you have known.

Fear of loss lies to you and attempts to convince you that you have invested too much time and can never get that time back.

The time you were in church and attached to religion was not a waste of time. In your evolution, you will learn to reframe your time in religion to be a part of your experience. You are also going to reconnect with your ability to not only reclaim your time but to collapse it. Collapsing time means recognizing that the past does not define you and that you can shape your present and future, regardless of your religious past.
